About Us
A Niagara Falls Tradition, The Home of the Original Submarine!
Est. 1958
Viola’s Original Submarine House was established in 1958 by founders Otto Viola, Louie Riccuito, Joseph and his wife Rita Tardibuono in Niagara Falls, NY on Elmwood Avenue in the market district of the city. Two years later in 1960 they built their second location on Military Road in the Town of Niagara. The business has been proudly family owned and operated for nearly eight decades. Today, Joe & Rita’s six children Sandy, Rose, Sarah (Gioia), Tom, Peter and Gina are the sole proprietors and can be seen managing its daily operations along with a few of their grandchildren.
In the past decade we evolved from a soley brick and mortar business when we added our first summer outdoor event during Nik Wallenda's historic tightrope walk across the majestic Niagara Falls on June 15, 2012. Since then we can be seen at local outdoor summer events throughout the WNY region.
We offer dine in, pick up, and door dash options for your convenience from our Military Road location and pick up from our Elmwood Avenue location.
In addition to our famous submarine sandwiches we prepare party subs pre ordered by the foot, a full catering menu, and offer a mobile food truck available to host corporate events, birthdays, graduations, or late night wedding snacks.
It has been our family's pleasure to serve in the community we live in and we look forward to continuing to bring quality products to WNY and beyond in the years to come.
And lastly, we owe our loyal customers and long term employees, who are like family, a heartfelt thank you! Without your continued support none of our successes would have been possible.
